225579222/2/201257this is a mixed colony of weavers located next to a security entrance. the individual birds are hard to identify as they are secretive. I have recognised one red headed weaver and another sp. my interest is in the 'multi chambered or interlinked nests'. there are about 57 nests clustered in this hook thorn tree.
372079230/10/201283Lesser masked weavers only. 83 completed old & new nests.(was 57) very active colony, building, displaying, stripping other nests/stealing from each other. Diederick cuckoo calling nearby. No egg shells found under colony. (revisited early September but still dormant)
71887926/10/20130Vm 3720 revisited. Males busy building. Females in attendance. Weaves becoming habituated to my regular visits. Most old nests have been stripped and new nests being built.
