NotesThese nests first spotted by young birder(Joshua Rogers) walking with me on 2013-11-24. One older but new (behind), other very new. Been watching for 4 days waiting for completion. Large adjacent grassland pasture mowed on 2013-11-23. Many grassland birds now seeking refuge in these dense bulrushes. Cannot say whether these birds were nesting elsewhere but are now forced to relocate to bulrush and grass thickets. Red-billed Quelea, bronze mannikens, purple indigobirds, pin-tailed whydahs, long-tailed paradise whydahs, red-collared & many white winged widowbirds now all seeking refuge in the bulrushes and long, uncut grass around the dams and other fields. Others species maybe still in moult. shall update.
