NotesVm 4390 & 6238 revisited. Colony much reduced from 70 odd nests originally reported in Vm 4390. Many damaged new nests on lawn - signs of gymnogene attack - backs torn out. Vm 6238 also showed marked reduction in numbers. Visited 6 weeks ago and colony started to look virile with many males displaying under newly built nests (not reported). Conclude that tree-based colony stressed from predation & now relocated 200m to nearby reedbeds at Vm 7430 as these were all green/new. Also a new colony (20 odd nests) starting in a solitary fever tree 400m away. (Not reported)
