Absolutely no activity. Rains began night 20th through to 21st. 1x Southern Masked Weaver almost completed nest. 7x partially completed Village Weaver nests (rings built by evening 21st). 1x Village Weaver nest completed with bird displaying under it. May have existed before, just not seen. No Lesser Masked or Spectacled Weavers seen (see Vm 6970/1) Nest count 0 Nest site tree

Have seen/recorded that these weavers may restore old nests. Village &
LMW also in surrounding trees.
nests: 4 old around pond. 7308 803 21/10/2013 0 Multi species colony. Previous reports for Spectacled and Lesser Masked from this site (Vm 6970/1). Rained last night. Immediate reaction from birds as colony inspected 2 days ago. New, almost complete Southern Masked Weaver and 7 Village Weaver rings & one completed nest structure. Village Weaver already performing nest display. No sign of other species yet. 7586 791 30/11/2013 4 Revisited Vm 6970. 2 groups of 2 nests in lower branches of fever trees, over water & bulrushes. currently seem 'not used' Birds heard in vicinity. Looked for newer nests unsuccessfully.
