Note: many gardens here have small colonies of Sthn masked weavers, usually 2 to 5 nests in a group. 6097 803 3/7/2013 10 Two different fever trees 10m apart with 4 males building new nests. Note:this is the dry season & mid winter (4 to 6 degrees at night). These males seem to be in full breeding plumage.The nests are all new built since 25th May when I last visited when no old nests remained from last season. The green nesting material is from palm fronds commonly found in local gardens. Females in area. Males sitting near nests doing wing vibration displays between building
