Notesnew, solitary, sthn masked weaver nest being built in acacia hanging over water right next to revamped spectacle weaver nest & above new thickbill weaver nest - next to Bronze mannikin nest. A nesting hot spot! Have noted that these birds at ottos dam are nesting later than others in the region - maybe because area was burnt out and reedbeds & bulrushes only maturing now - yet very large village weaver colony studied 50m away has become relatively quiet. Also, seeing 'other' small colonies of masked weaver nests developing in this region, often near seasonal puddles/water/pans (SABAP 2 pentad no 2420_3045).
