vmSpecies codeDateNestsNotes
19479920/10/201045At least 4 males, 4 active nests: 1 egg, 2 eggs, 2 chicks, 2 chicks - chicks all ringed
271779914/8/20121414 nest, 2 green, 1 collapsed, due to winter storm in water, near dead tree about 20 mt from shore. One nest looked like "two on top of each other" All nests very close to water, about 70cm at most.
329079914/10/201218There are now 18 nests visible from the path. I notice the original nest site is incorrectly stated as "tree"...it is near a dead tree. Repeat count. An accurate count can only be undertaken when wading knee deep in water.
37357994/11/201224These nest have grown to 24 with one green one visible from a distance. Could unfortunately not get close to them. No bird activity seen. Repeat count
574979918/6/20132This was one of the large colonies in the Clovelly wetland but only one nest from last year remained. This is the only site where I saw one active bird building a nest. One very old and one new green nest.
624379914/7/201388 nests total, 2 green (seen). Previous visit 3 weeks ago showed only 1 nest. The observations are from the same spot, but I need to wade 25mt to get close to the nests for an accurate count which I will do in the near future. There were a number of birds around the spot.
668179931/7/20131414 nests incl 3 green. It is very difficult to count the nests accurately in reeds in general and this site near impossible without wading. I consistently count these from the same vantage point.
