Eskom came and cleared up site - now only 2 active nests left. Claims the birds know they are safe even though so exposed - thats why they choose exposed powerlines. lots of lternative nesting options around. Shall follow up on this site the long funnelled nests came from here. kept them because of size. owner is 'the top birder in the area 'Dave Rushworth'. 2 nests, one on the ground - took home. RH weavers used Cassia rachis as well as an midrib leaf configuration from the Euclea natalensis (Natal Guarri or ebony) (ie 2 different ribs/rachis used in same nest) and lined roof of nests with the Guarri leaves.
