nests: 105 counted but there are lesser masked in this colony. Lower nests are 'fallen' & not included in count.
8081 797 21/12/2013 0 Large mostly Village Weaver colony in large thorn tree hanging over very busy R36/R527 road - alongside a small but long wetland on either side of road. many nests torn on ground - gymnogene - see feather lining of LMW nest under tree. Nests: 126 (all species) 13345 797 16/9/2014 51 repeat vm 8081, large colony in leafy thorn tree hanging over busy R527/38
Comment: birds active in daytime - don't think they are sleeping there yet -
probably in close by reed beds.
Stripping of leaves started in canopy.
