History of repeat colony counts
Note: repeats from the same day are not shown.vm Species code Date Nests Notes 29065 3748 7/9/2019 1 height 0.8 metre in rank seasonal veg dominated by wild mint. Notes. 2 displaying males in immed vicinity of nest site with up to 6 fems seen in the immed locale over the obs. Period. Males involved in typical flight displays with audible wing fripping - neither seen carrying any nest material. One fem bishop watched bringing grasses of four occasions to the nest over 20 mins & through binoculars with part visuals thru the herbage - appeared to be involved in nest construction not simply lining the nest. 1 unmarked blue egg. With further obs. there would seem to be potential new information on strategies going on here additional to eg BoA & what is current at PHOWN ? eg at what point is the nest structure built by the male and handed over to the female for completion & egg laying before nest completion & nest height. The nests I have seen here (not many as have not been looking until I noted PHOWN has no records) are frail purse / hammocks
