2626DDLocality Old Republic park (water pan) in Stilfontein Latitude, longitude -26.84636536652678, 26.78498515594231 [0 m accuracy] Date 2019/2/21 Notes Bird was eating grass seeds and being chased by adult breeding male southern masked weaver. The eye colour though, does not fit Southern masked weaver... They are black, and not reddish-brown or red as for female/juv or male birds? Also seems to be going into breeding plumage, looking at the black face mask, but then bill should be black, and not horn coloured. Sun was shining on the bird while being photographed, so the light did not affect the captured eye colour. Nest count 0 Nest site
