803, Southern Masked Weaver Ploceus velatus (see species summary here)Record status ACCEPTED Vm 2819 [on-line data upload (2012-08-25): 21273] Species Southern Masked Weaver Observer(s) Fiford Graham Country, town, locus South Africa, Gauteng, sandton,
2628AALocality In mary garden in Sandton Latitude, longitude -26.1150996424259, 28.0289554595947 [0 m accuracy] Date 2012/8/25 Notes The weavers in our garden started their nest building activity early this year - in June - which surprised me. I thought they would only start in Spring, around end August. However, they have been frantically building nests since June when there was only one nest under construction. There are now 6 nests being actively worked on and no doubt more will be in the pipeline. Last year at the end of summer I counted 13 nests in our fever tree/Anna tree complex. Let's see how many they end up with this year. Accepted into bop:41 by Les Underhill on 2012-08-25:14-38-09 Nest count 6 Nest site tree
