1793379130/9/20151Strange nests made by ocularis on an island on the Luapula river - they seem to try and copy dried Papyrus leaves - they have replaced their long tunnel entrees with dangling straw. Yet I did find other nests on the banks of the river which are still traditional ones with long entrance tubes. Last year I found 5 abandoned nests build the same way on the same island. same island
1873779124/1/2016016 Mixed nests from ocularis and xanthops - Ocularis nests were mixed with more TATTY and less normal tube entrances.I found that the tatty tubes were found only near Papyrus plants were growing- Xanthops had normal ball shaped nests.
