The apparent reason for this is that the fynbos vegetation in this Sandveld region seldom grows above a metre off the ground and these birds prefer lofty nesting sites - hence the choice of the water tower. However, one lone weaver dared to be different - he built his nest on the wire fencing close by 19229 799 1/5/2016 7 old nests on water tank structure - wind protected 30109 799 20/8/2021 15 c3 males, female, 2 grN, nests on wires below tank
