780, White-browed Sparrow-Weaver Plocepasser mahali (see species summary here)Record status ACCEPTED Vm 16819 [on-line data upload (2015-07-06): 155741] Species White-browed Sparrow-Weaver Observer(s) Fouche Leonie Country, town, locus South Africa, Eastern Cape, Nieu-Bethesda,
3224BALocality road to Nieu-Bethesda (30km from Graaff-Reinet) Latitude, longitude -32.020775, 24.622575 [0 m accuracy] Date 2015/7/4 Notes I noticed some more nests at the back of the tree, closest to the road (to Nieu-Bethesda). So we stopped at the spot and not long thereafter, Alan heard the birds calling in a distance. We went to a spot close to an Agave plantation, where we saw 3 individuals moving about. We could see their nests in at least 6 trees in the immediate area - some old and falling apart, but others looking active. Back at the vehicles Gill told us that while we were out in the veld, another 2 birds were present at one of the nests in the tree next to the road. So we can confirm that 5 birds were seen in the vicinity.
