50628037/1/20133No old nests, 3 new nests. One with chicks. 2 being built on different trees by 2 different males. Last pic is of disturbed male stripping fever tree leaves next to nest. nests 3. Note: many gardens here have small colonies of Sthn masked weavers, usually 2 to 5 nests in a group.
60978033/7/201310Two different fever trees 10m apart with 4 males building new nests. Note:this is the dry season & mid winter (4 to 6 degrees at night). These males seem to be in full breeding plumage. The nests are all new built since 25th May when I last visited when no old nests remained from last season. The green nesting material is from palm fronds commonly found in local gardens. Females in area. Males sitting near nests doing wing vibration displays between building activities. nests: 5 plus 5 = 10 plus some starters
