PiX magazine: "... offset your carbon footprint – let your pics count for conservation"

2012-04-19 (209)

This is the cover of the latest edition of PiX Magazine, currently available in bookstores. PiX is South Africa's leading photographic magazine. In her editorial, Fiona Peake writes about "Photo Heroes". She says: "This issue is filled with Photo Heroes ... Photo Heroes are also the individuals who give up their time/money to use photography to make a difference. There are so many ways we can also become Photo Heroes. One way is to help the Animal Demography Unit (ADU) at UCT to produce accurate 21st century distribution maps. For more information on how you can help, turn to page 106."

And on page 106 is the first page of an article which starts: "If your photographic interests include wild life, you probably do a great deal of travelling. Here is a novel way to offset your carbon footprint - let your pictures count for conservation." In other words, submit your pictures of weaver colonies, mammals, reptiles, dragonflies, butterflies, ... , to the various ADU Virtual Museums at vmus.adu.org.za.
