NotesReedbeds alongside R36 mentioned in Feb 2013 (Vm 5241) have been cleared. Birds seem to have moved to remaining reedbeds on other side of road nearby. Counted, once, about 130 masked weaver nests in this 100m stretch and many more in thorn trees in the area. Examined one T/S for composition - note 'thin floor - unlined(0.5cm), & very thick (2,5cm) insulated roof. Upper roof lined with compound acacia leaves as well as green grass - in fan formation. No Thick-bill weavers seen (Vm 5235) but was late & i was in a hurry.
