75948041/12/20130Vm 4523 revisited. 4 new nests now built. (1+1+2) Previously know that each male establishes a small spatial territory between neighbours and then builds one or more nests. (see Vm 1956 where 30, but up to 37 individual nests recorded in this bulrush thicket). Thick-bills became obvious & started nesting coincided with grass being mowed in large adjoining pastures, but also rains had started and flying ant now abound. Not sure which was the critical variable.
