2522780526/3/20171000Massive extended breeding colony of Red-billed Queleas. Pictures I supplied of the various trees were the ones close to the road. The birds were flying between the river and the main colony area which is actually in open woodland. The males were in breeding plumage. Realistically that area must have had several hundred trees with Quelea nests. There were constant flocks flying between the river and the colony as well as the surrounding grassland. The grasses are at peak grain loads. There were also lots of White-winged Widowbirds in the area too.
