2010-01-02 (38)

Over 2000 birds were ringed on the Cape Peninsula in 2009, of 40 species. Two thirds of these consisted of four weaver species. The top four species ringed were Cape Weaver, Southern Masked Weaver, Southern Red Bishop and Common Waxbill. The highest recapture rate (where at least 10 birds were ringed) was for Levaillant's Cisticola. A full species list of captures on the Cape Peninsula is given here.
